Aurora exhaled deeply as her breath carried out onto the salty wind and faded into the darkness. The repetitive sound of waves crashing brutally against rocks blocked out all other noise, sending sprays of water up towards the edge of the cliff. Wavern Ledge. A remote and somewhat dangerous shoreline made up of black rocks that stretch far down the coastline. To many this would be an avoided area due to the threat that the short-tempered ocean poses, but to the more devout of the Adair pack this was a traditional worshipping ground of Adair's guardian Goddess, Arria.
But Aurora didn't believe in such things. Of course not. She had no reason to. She wasn't doubting the present of some sort of God-like figure, but she certainly had no way of knowing that any of the four major Gods and Goddesses actually existed. She normally didn't bother with such petty thoughts, but at the moment she was desperate. Now normally, divine intervention would be the last thing that Aurora would ever count on to solve a problem. She was an independent wolf who liked to do things herself, solve her own problems whilst sitting in solitude musing quietly to herself about answers and solutions. But there were some things that were even out of her intelligent control.
The adult wolf trotted slowly forward to the edge of the cliff, narrowing her eyes as sprays of saltwater bounded up from their collision with the rocks. She lifted her head as her golden mane seemed to sparkle in the moonlight, along with the rest of her coat. She heard howls in the far distance. No doubt the Venta, but even if it wasn't, it was too far away for her to investigate now. Because now was her rare alone time, and she had chosen to spend it in a place sacred to the Adair. Why? Well, if there was a God, she had a thing or two that she wanted to ask.
The whole thing felt rather pointless to Aurora's wildly logical mind, but nonetheless, she decided on one of her old sayings. Nothing ventured, nothing learned. With a quiet sigh, the glistening wolf began to speak. Arria, if you do exist, there is a lot I have to ask of you. I don't exactly know how this process goes, but if you could send a sign, that would be wonderful. she stated mechanically, waiting for a few awkward seconds before continuing. But if you can't, then I suppose I can just begin with my first question. Why was my mate taken from me? He was a fair, wise soul. Though he was often made fun of for his rather stout nature, I found him to be the most charming and elegant out of any of the Adair. And now that I've had a taste of perfection, it is rather easy to ridicule and push aside others. I have had many suitors, but not one of them seems to be as lovely as he. I guess my true question is... will I ever find anyone as wonderful to me as Rodolpho? After that, the colorful wolf sat back on her haunches and closed her deep blue eyes, awaiting some sort of response, though deep down she expected none. Things of the supernatural were never of her belief, even if her ability to foreshadow certain things went somewhat unexplained otherwise.

Was she supposed to come at this mortal's beck and call? Really, she was appearing car too often- oh, no need to lie. She loved speaking to the mortal wolves of Adair far too much to lie about it, and really it saved Trigo from having to meet them. Yes, just one more, and she'd stop coming as much. Just... one... more...
______________________________________________________
She came without warning. Her steps over the slick stones were silent. Nothing to mark the appearance, nothing in her bearing or her looks would make you question her. Except for the suddenness of her arrival and the unusual appearance of small, white clouds in the formerly cloudless sky. The young wolf listened with interest as the striking Aurora spoke, her head cocked to the side. If Arria existed? Really, there were wolves that doubted? Strange...
But she was silent, not making a sound as the other female's speech came to an end. Both of them waited in silence, Aurora for an answer and Leesha for her to continue. But when Aurora didn't continue, she decided to speak.
"I, never knew, that some doubted, the existence of the gods." she said in her careful way of speech, but even though her voice was gentle, no doubt it would startle the other wolf. But, she plowed on anyways. "It seems, to me that, if Arria did exist, she'd find your questions, rather hard... to answer." there was a thoughtful pause before she continued, "I mean, you are asking for, a reason behind death... When it is, a law of nature. You seem, to think that, the gods, decided to kill him. As if, they felt he deserved, to die... But, I can't see that, being the truth." she sighed and then continued, "And, you are asking her, to look into the future? Or something, similar... So that, you might know if, you will find another, like your old mate... And, no god controls time..." her voice trailed off, and she seemed to come back to herself. But she didn't venture to say anymore, not a greeting, not an apology. She stayed silent to wait for Aurora's reaction.

Aurora focused on the small blurs of color that made an appearance as she closed her eyes. The poor wolf had always had trouble simply keeping her eyes closed due to the fragility of her eyelashes. She always found that the only way to sleep comfortably was to have something putting pressure against her eyes, such as a rock or a paw. Even then, it was a bit uncomfortable. In any case, there was absolutely no warning for the newcomer who had decided to speak so suddenly. Where had she even come from?
Still, due to years of detached behavior and even a little more time spent playing with tricky youngsters, it took a lot to make Aurora jumpy. The most the female did was bat an eyelash once or twice as the sound of another voice echoed through the air, though admittedly, her heart skipped a beat when words pierced the seaside's rough silence. Whoever it was, Aurora didn't immediately need to know. So she just gazed forward as she had been before the new visitor had approached, merely listening without looking. Her analytical mind began to put the pieces together, however, on this new wolf's identity. It seemed the other had a bit of difficulty speaking a full and complete sentence without pausing for thought or for some sort of unknown emphasis. It was strange, and nothing she had ever heard before. Other than that, there were no signs that deserved attention other than the fact that the aforementioned stranger was indubitably stealthy.
Yet her answers seemed so odd. The thought of this new wolf being Arria hadn't even crossed Aurora's mind, but the wolf sure was speaking like she knew the Goddess. Not initially, of course, but she seemed to think she had some in depth view on the Gods themselves. But firstly, she decided to mention that most wolves were devout, which Aurora knew very well, but she was never one to follow the crowd. Independence was her card. So was wisdom, but it seemed that her thinking had failed her on this one. The stranger had pinned her down on a lot of good points that she hadn't even considered.
Without turning around, Aurora began to reply. It may seem narrow-minded, but I have never seen any signs of the Gods, and therefore I don't believe in them fully. Well of course, if I truly didn't believe in them I wouldn't be here, but... There she went, contradicting herself. Why couldn't she think in her head instead of embarrassing herself out loud? Either way, she was quick to bury that mistake. In any case, I just don't know what I've done to deserve such a foul thing. More than that, what he had done to deserve such a foul end. I have a lot to thank the Gods for. My coat, for example. It's the envy of the crowd. A gift that my mother said was given by the Gods. But I also feel that I have a right to be angry. Can the Gods really provide no more than beauty and life while failing to prevent unfair death and underdeveloped bodies? Aurora asked in a soft conversational tone. She was directing no hate, but she definitely had questions. And this wolf seemed to know about the Gods. That is, if they existed.

When Aurora didn't turn around, she was somewhat confused, usually wolves were at least a little startled by her silent arrival. But this one... she grinned, too many years spent about rambunctious pups surely. Her smile only faded when she focused on her words, solemn words that should not be listened to with a smile. So, she sat down smoothly, her tail curling about her paws as she listened with a cocked ear. When the other wolf had finished, there was a long silence as Leesha tried to work out an answer. There were many things she could say, so many... Finally, she spoke, her usually disjointed voice a little more smooth due to the fact she'd spent so long puzzling out the answer.
"I don't think, you are narrow minded. You haven't, grown up in a pack like the one, before the war. With Electin, and Sequs who were, god-touched." she got to her feet, unable to continue sitting, and walked so that when she spoke next Aurora would hear it coming from the opposite direction. "And, as to your other, question. If the gods, if they do not, decide who lives and dies, who is born weak, and gift-less... why would you believe, that they decide, who is strong, and who is beautiful." a slightly wry tone entered her voice, "Wolves might, bless the gods, for their gifts, but they curse them, for their misfortunes, as well. Many things, attributed to the gods, are not really, due to them. You could as easily, choose to believe, that it was luck, or fate, or some type of, magic spell...
Your coat, for example, is no doubt just, a quirk of birth. Not that it makes it, any less beautiful... but, it isn't due to, some interest of the gods... Just as, the death of your mate, the loss you have felt, is not because the gods, hate you. Nothing you, or he did, caused them to kill him, because, the gods did not, do so. His death, was not punishment, by the gods... but merely a terrible misfortune..." her voice trailed off, she was staring hard at the ground, she was not used to such questions, she was not prepared for them. Hopefully, this meager speech would help though...

Aurora heaved a small sigh as her speech came to an end. The other wolf had not replied yet, but that was nothing unexpected. Her questions were harsh and nearly unanswerable. She didn't want to put so much pressure on another wolf, but this wolf was currently unknown to her, and in a way she felt as if she was testing the stranger's knowledge. A slight breeze swept by and tousled her pelt a bit, but she made no move to fix it. She wasn't so vain that she had to properly clean herself in the middle of such a moment.
A long silence fell over the two of them, and Aurora quickly fell into a dreamlike state. Images began to flash in her head, though of what she had no idea. It was all too blurry, too fast. But at the same time, there was a certain serenity to it. Water. Waves, creeping up against the coast before quickly receding back down. Again. And again. It was soothing, but Aurora didn't know what to make of this image. Perhaps her conscious was trying to warn her of something. But what was she dealing with that had to do with water? Before she could really think about it, the images faded away as easily as they came and the stranger's voice rang through the air again. She was not to blame for her thoughts, apparently. Aurora had always wondered why certain wolves felt they could relieve another of guilt. The only one that could forgive Aurora for her rash narrow-mindedness would have to be Arria, to whom it was directed too. In any case, such a trivial thing didn't concern her for long as she listened to the new wolf continue speaking. For a couple seconds, there was a silence. Then, the voice came again, only from the opposite side. Aurora didn't twitch, but she almost had. Admittedly, this wolf was quite the light footed one. But that wasn't important yet.
When the other's speech had finally concluded, Aurora felt a certain something pounding in her chest. Her heart, of course. She wanted to ask more questions, more childish questions. She wasn't usually so rash and immature, but she had to get these small problems she'd been bottling up out. Hopefully this wolf would understand. If the Gods are as powerful as rumored, then why do they not work to help those who fall under the shadow of death? Aurora asked smoothly. She then turned to look at the other wolf for the first time. Strangely, she wasn't as extravagant as Aurora had originally envisioned. Quite a basic coat. She couldn't see anything in the eyes due to the little light that was out. My mate perished in a fire. Arria is the famed Goddess of Water. Why could she not douse the flames that harmed her loyal follower? Why should we worship she who does nothing to save us from direst situation? If Arria is so omnipotent, then why is she powerless when it comes to life and death? Aurora asked, getting one final jab in at the deity as her piercing blue eyes focused on the snout of the other wolf. The wind picked up, blowing her golden mane to her right. If Arria was out there, Aurora might have just made a terrible mistake. Water. She had seen it in a vision. Maybe Arria was here...

She'd hoped that she wouldn't have to answer any more hard questions, but of course that was not to be. "But, this is exactly, what I have been, telling you. The gods are not omnipotent." she paused, to continue from here, she'd have to drop the disguise. No mortal, no matter how knowledgeable would know the things she'd have to say. It was sort of funny actually, she found herself thinking. The wolf turned around to see her, only to just a little while later see her fur ripple to shift into that of Arria's coat, dark blue fur with violet hints and iridescent teal scale markings. Other than that, she stayed the same, except for a shimmering stream of water that seemed to leap out of the ocean to settle in like glittering rope across her body. That more than anything, for it was too dark to see her eyes, was proof of her godhood. Only the gods, and their chosen few, controlled the elements. She stood there, staring at Aurora for several moments, giving her time to realize what was happening before she finally spoke. ____________________________________________________ "The power we possess, comes from the elements. But, at a cost. To use more than, a trickle, of that power, is to cause a disaster, somewhere else. If I had stopped, that fire, it would mean death, in another place. And even if I had, it would only, invite disaster unto Adair." her voice was very earnest now, "Because... had that fire not, been allowed to run it's course, it would only be, a few years before a, bigger fire would come, because their would be even, more for it to burn. And, if that happened, I would need to, use even more, power to stop it, which would mean that, the next fire would, be even more powerful, and so on, and so forth, until Adair was little more, than a a death trap, just waiting for Dargan to see it. An infertile, broken, and useless death trap, since fire also renews. And, if at that point, Dargan set the fire... I doubt I'd be, able to put it out."
She sighed, not looking at the other wolf. She wasn't used to revealing so much about the gods, in fact she couldn't remember a time that she'd done it before. But, how could she deny Aurora answers? Especially when she wanted them only for questions of grave importance to her. Arria couldn't be like the others, who would tell them that a mortal's life was less than an eye blink in time for them, after all she lived differently than the elders. Time passed more slowly for her due to her fascination with the wolves. She couldn't afford to not be cognizant of the passing of time, not when a few paltry decades would see an entire pack dead and gone many times over. But still, the life of one wolf, save perhaps a Sequs or Electin, would never be able to effect her the way it would a mortal. But she couldn't say that, she would never say that. Anyway, what she had said was the truth.

With a soft sigh, Aurora listened to the words of the strange wolf. She had confessed that the Gods were not omnipotent? Now that was a new one. Usually everyone was exclaiming that they were all powerful and unstoppable. There were even stories of the Gods themselves saying such things in a bright hour. It was nice to hear that someone had another view. However, the glistening wolf was in for quite a surprise when she continued to study the stranger. Out of nowhere, her body began changing to a deep blue color. Then water trickled out of the ocean and settled around her.
Aurora did not look stunned on the outside, but inside she was bewildered. Was this Arria? She was... beautiful. And Aurora had never said that about another wolf. The watery rope that seemed to wrap around her body was all the old Milede needed to finally clarify that this was indeed Arria. And all of a sudden, she felt drawn to the Goddess. She made no move forward, but her front paws seemed to quiver with anticipation, and she leaned forward when the Goddess spoke as if to take in every last word. She was suddenly captivated. And despite the argumentative side of herself, she spoke nothing immediately as the Goddess had finished her speech. The poor Milede was still in a state of shock.
But, after a short silence, Aurora gathered herself and looked off to the right as if she was not worthy of the Goddess's gaze just yet. I've been rash. So careless with my words that I even brought the divine out of hiding. Aurora took a deep breath. And for that, I apologize. The glistening wolf then began to trot forward carefully, once more setting her attention on Arria. Now that I look upon you... there's no doubt in my mind that the Gods exist. You're beautiful. Aurora complimented. She was talking slowly, as if in a dream-like state. However, as quickly as it had come, that demeanor was swept away and replaced by Aurora's typical cold and solemn expression. It was foolish of me to think that I could solve all of our problems relying solely on divine intervention. You are not to blame for what happens naturally. But then...
The old wolf forced her eyes off of Arria's coat and stepped carefully to the cliff edge, gazing silently into the water before speaking again. How am I to keep our pack safe? I am only a MIlede, I can't protect them like I'd like too. With every new death comes another blow to the chest. I want to protect the wolves of Adair from suffering fates that they cannot control, but it seems that everyone is powerless to accomplish such deeds. Aurora finished, her eyes restless as they darted from wave to wave, trying to find a relaxed place to look. I just want to protect my pups... she whispered as an afterthought.

Ah, perhaps she shouldn't have shifted so soon, for the wolf who had been so questioning was now overwhelmed by the sight of a god. Arria should have expected this, but more and more she felt herself connecting to the mortals. It was to the point that she forgot the effect she had on them. She sighed inwardly, more folly on her part.
"Please, don't go formal, on me now. We were, having such, a good conversation. I've never, had to answer, such questions." she smiled at her compliment, but shook her head at Aurora's apology. "What in the world, is foolish, about that? Wolves are raised, with the belief, that the gods are, all powerful. It's expected that, you believe these things, as well."
Ah, finally Aurora had gone back to her former manner. And her plea touched Arria deeply. But, how could she help a Milede protect the pack? Her snaking stream of water had twined itself around one foreleg, and a spark of light in it caught her attention. Now, there was a way. "There are, few things I can, give you. So many of my gifts, are for Sequs. And you would, find them useless, anyway." she smiled a little smugly as she continued, "However, this will be helpful."
She twitched an ear, and a small bit of that water drifted away from the rest, to sit spinning gently in front of her, she stared to it as she said, "This water, has quite a bit of, my power inside. It will let me, have a connection, with you... As long as you, keep it on you, at all times. That way, should fire ever, threaten the lives, of Adair wolves. This, will let you, call on me to, not stop, but slow it, enough for the wolves, to flee. All you must do, is call my name, out loud, or silently, either way I will hear you." she stared at Aurora until she could meet her eyes again before continuing, her voice deadly serious, "But, I cannot help you, against foes, of other breeds. Wolves, predators, unrest. Those are, beyond my scope. Do not call on, me then. Mortals must, deal with those, without the gods, to tell them, what to do. Or else you are little more, than toys."
She kept her eyes on Auroras for a little while longer, before turning her eyes back on the slowly spinning water. She bore down on it with her will, and it froze in an instance into a perfect diamond shape, with four very shallow faces in the shape of triangles, created from edges that rose from each of the four points. But, she didn't stop there, she bore down on it more, turning it into something that wasn't quite water anymore. Something she doubted she could have done with anything other than the water from her rope. Finally, she was done, the ice crystal that was no longer an ice crystal floated gently. It still sparkled though with those odd flashes of blue light, so even though it was completely translucent, it glittered like a gem.
"This will never melt. Now, hold still, this may sting." she informed Aurora. And then, twitched the other ear. Hair fell away from the center of Aurora's forehead, its moisture sucked away, reducing it to dust. Leaving a perfect mirror of naked pink skin for the base of the diamond, which flew to land on it. The crystal was far colder than ice, and froze the skin under it, no doubt causing a bit of discomfort. But it would pass, the skin would thaw, but the crystal would stay attached. Arria sat back, admiring her handiwork. The glimmered, filled with tiny blue stars of countless shades that winked in in out of life. She thought it rather fetching.

Aurora returned to her solemn expression immediately after Arria had asked her not to "go formal" on her, though she was a bit curious about the fact that the Goddess had never been confronted with such questions before. It was only odd to Aurora because she had always thought the Gods to be omniscient, but it seemed that they too had a limit on their wisdom. Still, Aurora wasn't at all unhappy with the feedback she was getting. In fact, when she left, she would probably have retained a lot more wisdom than she did when she visited.
The glistening wolf tilted her head to the side, betraying her typically stoic expression and showing curiosity. Arria had just mentioned that most of her gifts were for Sequs, but... there was something she could obtain? A small rush of excitement flooded Aurora's body, but she didn't dare show it on the outside. She only watched in complete silence as the water around the Goddess began to shift. Aurora felt bewitched by the Goddess's voice, but she didn't dare let her mind stray. No, all of her attention was on Arria's instructions, which she absorbed without pause. There were apparently rules to this power. She could not call on Arria for anything except for to slow fires. Now that was actually... very useful. Aurora met the Goddess's eyes, becoming entranced in her gaze for a few seconds before mentally snapping out of it and refocusing on the conversation at hand. Aurora couldn't help herself- the Goddess was stunning.
But even her comforting gaze couldn't prepare Aurora for what was about to happen. She had been nodding her head when necessary to the Goddess's speech, but then all of a sudden it concluded and Aurora found herself staring into Arria's eyes. Again. They were bewitching.. but the Goddess lifted her gaze and focused on something else, leaving a slightly dazzled Aurora to regain her senses just in time to notice that Arria had just formed some sort of crystal-like object out of the water around her. It's pretty.. Aurora offered in a whisper, not taking her eyes off of it. And it was beautiful. Aurora hadn't really seen any sort of crystals or gems before and this one sparkled like crazy.
Aurora's deep blue eyes lifted upwards from the gem at the Goddess's next warning. Sting? What? Well, Aurora could quite easily take the physical pain, but the glistening wolf yelped in surprise as her fur fell to the floor. Her.. fur, her beautiful fur! What did the Goddess do to it?! Before she could even open her mouth to complain, however, she felt a sudden and discomforting coldness on her forehead. Talk about brain freeze.. that thing really hurt.
Wait, was the crystal on her forehead? The pain seemed to numb rather quickly, and Aurora almost crossed her eyes to look, but she couldn't. She looked around frantically before spotting the ocean, and she darted past the Goddess and down the ledges to a tidepool lying beneath, gazing into the water as she focused on her reflection. The crystal was indeed on her head now. And it.. it looked.. amazing. It was a decoration! And it definitely complemented her fur. Then again, a lot of different colors complemented her coat. Aurora turned her head back to look at the Goddess. It's wonderful.. she whispered in admiration, bowing her head in respect. You have my deepest gratitude, Lady Arria. I.. I love it. And I swear not to abuse its purpose. she finished, lifting her head to look at the Goddess again. How lucky she was to have caught her guardian Goddess's attention..

Arria tilted her head for a moment. Staring at the she-wolf. Her eyes flicked to the gem on her forehead. A mark of her favor, for Aurora to carry the rest of her life. An idea was slowly forming in her mind, and she walked closer to the other wolf, eyes roaming to the area about the gem, and slowly a mischievous grin formed. She heard the mortal's words almost dimly, and paused, to look in her eyes for a moment. The grin became a crooked one, and she said, with the slightest bit of disbelief, and quite a bit more of approval "You truly mean that, don't you. You really won't, ever try and call, on me for mortal matters." it wasn't really something she expected an answer to. It was more thinking out loud then anything.
Suddenly she jerked her head up and down in a decisive and abrupt nod. She trotted the last few steps up to Aurora, eyes bright with a strange type of mirth, proud over her discovery. "I remember, now who you, remind me of." she told her, turning around suddenly to look at the waves, letting the sea breeze sweep back her fur, and glanced back at Aurora, smiling. It was all for the effect as she said, "Vuullus! Perhaps the pack, no longer remembers, her name. But, she was the first, very first, Electin, not of Adair, but before the split. You even look, like her, did you know? Of course not, but see... she had fur the color, of silver, with a golden mane, and I made her Electin markings, gold as well, a beautiful coat. Even if it wasn't, as spectacular as yours." Ary's eyes glazed over at the memory of that long ago time, at least for mortals. She could remember the first Electin, standing proud protecting her pack, her children. It had filled Ary with sorrow when she'd died, mateless. But so very content, the goddess could remember the last conversation they'd had, when she'd asked Lulu why she'd never taken a mate.
She knew the exact words the long dead wolf had used, "The pack, they are you children, are they not?" she asked Aurora, repeating perfectly the words of that proud, strong wolf, "They are mine, as well you see, I cherish them so much. I wish I could, protect them, from all harm, but I cannot. However, I shall do my best, to keep them from, feeling pain." until now she'd just been using Lulu's lines, but here she diverged, turning completely around and coming back to Aurora, her eyes serious.
"Since the war, since the last, great battle, and the fall, of the Electins, the-" she paused for a moment, shoulders suddenly stiffening in anger and sorrow,"the Sequs, the wolves of Adair, my children, have been without a leader, and I can only think, that they are suffering. But, you dear Aurora, you care for them, want to protect them. Something you cannot do, as a Milede, at least, not as much as, you should." she was smiling again, and when she moved to place her muzzle to Aurora's head she seemed to have a great weight lifted off her shoulders. "So, dear Aurora. I name you the Electin, of Adair." in the area where she touched, once again a change was wrought on the wolf. The fur shifted in hue, and after a few moments, the marking of an Electin stood out on her head, the designs traveling to curl around her eyes in a tribal sort of fashion. It was colored around the gem in an almost icy blue, which soon darkened to the same blue as her eyes and the spots on her muzzle before gliding into green the color of half grown grass, and then into a hue more resembling spring leaves until it reached the very tips, where it became the warmest shade of brown. Never had there been such a complex marking, but then again, few could have pulled this off. "Ice, water, growth, earth." she thought to herself smugly.
Ary paused suddenly after withdrawing her muzzle, "Unless, you do not wish, the position. If you don't, I can remove the mark, and you may forget, it was ever offered." her expression turned to that of a small frown, but she wasn't too worried, surely the mortal would want the job. "If you accept, then I bid you, go now to the camp. Call a pack meeting. My gift, and the mark, should ensure the... legitimacy of your claim, to leadership. But, others, may still object. If they do, you are on your own. I will only come, if I must, to avoid blood shed, otherwise, this it your first test. Of many, to prove that, I am not mistaken in choosing you." she looked at the wolf with warmth,"I very much, doubt I am. But still, you must handle this, on your own. But know that, I am on your side. Understand?"

Tilting her head to one side with the faintest bit of curiosity, Aurora watched as the Goddess approached her. She had a certain look on her face, one that was very familiar to her. It was almost like a pup who was about to cause trouble. Yes, Aurora knew very well that expression. An expression of mischief. Lucky thing she had caught it early on, or else-
Or else the smile changed and Arria began to speak. Aurora immediately returned the smile at the Goddess's fond words, but her mind was still wary. What was she planning? Whatever it was, apparently she needed to get closer to explain. Aurora comfortably sat back on her haunches as the Goddess approached, awaiting some sort of story or conversation. Vuullus! Well, the name was pretty, but Aurora had absolutely no idea who it was. Though she felt ashamed for not knowing the first Electin of the wolves. How embarrassing.. but still, she listened on as the Goddess explained her coat and then glimmered a bit when Arria complimented her own fur. But still, she paid attention, as fascinated as a child as Arria spoke the words of Vuullus wisdom. It was strange.. but those words seemed to echo her own when she spoke of the pack in everyday life. Did she remind Arria of the oldest Electin albeit just the coat?
The Goddess then turned around and had a solemn look on her expression. Aurora had just been smiling at the past Electin's quotes, but now her face too grew calm, characterized by deep sincerity. The Goddess was explaining something that obviously made her feel pained, for she hesitated in her speech more than usual. Aurora listened carefully as the words came out and she simply stared at the Goddess. Not in surprise, but anticipation. But the former expression would soon envelop her features as the Goddess moved forward and gave her a blessing she had never expected. Electin.
She shuddered a bit at the thought. That was a ton of responsibility, should she accept, for the Goddess had just offered her a choice. But at the same time it was an opportunity. Sure, the new gem would give her a way to be more capable of protecting her children, her fellow wolves, but now she had a chance to offer them full safety under her rule. She could not let such an offer slide.
The wolf nodded her head almost rhythmically at the Goddess's next orders and as soon as she had finished, Aurora spoke. I understand. she said almost calmly, though a hint of excitement could be heard in her inflection. Thank you Lady Arria, I.. she paused, at a loss for words. She had no idea what else she could say. So instead of speaking, she lowered her head and brushed up against the Goddess's neck with utmost adoration and platonic affection. She almost felt like a pup for doing such a childish thing, but she was sure the Goddess would understand. After only about three seconds, she took a couple of steps back. Thank you. she repeated. And with that, she turned and ran off towards the pack. It was time to notify her children of their new leader. No.. their godmother.
